PESHAWAR: Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif has said the merger of Fata with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was the biggest step for the erstwhile tribal areas since the framing of Constitution of Pakistan.
The former prime minister said this in a meeting with a Jira of tribal youth in Islamabad on Monday. He said the Fata-KP merger will bring positive change in the life of the Fata people.
The PML-N Quaid said the elections on the provincial seats of Fata should also be held on 25 July alongside the rest of the country. He hoped that the Fata lawmakers will not adopt the attitude of Balochistan Assembly members.
Nawaz Sharif said many countries in the world have left behind Pakistan in development because of lack of respect for the vote in our country. He claimed that Bangladesh was ahead of Pakistan in economy, education and industrial development.
The former premier claimed that the foreign media are already reporting about possible rigging in the upcoming general elections in Pakistan. He said he is enduring all difficulties for the country’s interest and supremacy of the Constitution.
