Fata students asks govt to take notice of corruption in Fata University

PESHAWAR, 25 May: The FATA Students Organization on Thursday asked the federal government to take notice of alleged corruption and irregularities being carried out in the FATA University.
Addressing a press conference, FATA Students Organization president, Zubair Afridi told reporters that according to FATA Secretariat notification, residents of the tribal areas would be appointed on the posts from grade one to grade 16. However, not even a single tribal was appointed on these posts. He alleged that the University Finance Officer Asad Jan has appointed his relatives illegally on these posts. They also claimed to have documented proofs and evidence of illegal appointments in the university.
Criticizing the university administration, they said that there are no educational activities in the university and said the administration is putting the future of the students at stake.
Talking to TNN Afridi said that they would launch a protest movement against university administration and FATA Secretariat after Ramazan for which a body will be formed which will represent all students organizations, students societies.
They asked Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra to take notice of the corruption in the university otherwise they would hold a protest outside Governor House and FATA Secretariat.
