PESHAWAR, 12 October: Saudi Arabia is planning to issue visas to 1.2 million Umrah pilgrims every month from next year, reports said on Monday.

Saudi media quoted Haj Minister Bandar al-Hajjar as saying that as many as 1.25 million pilgrims are expected to arrive each month starting next year. Currently 400,000 Muslims are allowed to get Umrah visas a month.

He said that after the completion of expansion projects at holy sites, the kingdom will be able to  easily manage and accommodate 1.2 millions Umrah pilgrims every month.
