QUETTA, 15 May: Unidentified kidnappers have abducted 19 people, including a union council chairman and 10 children, from three areas of Balochistan.

Levies sources told TNN that a union council chairman Syed Naseer Ahmed, Health Department employee Abdur Rashid and Levies official Ahmed Ali were kidnapped from Ormara area near Gwadar last night.

Two labourers were also kidnapped from a coal mine in Shahrgag area of Harnai district. The kidnapped labourers reportedly belonged to Swat. Another such incident happened in Chatar tehsil of Naseerabad district where unknown kidnappers abducted 14 persons, including 10 children, along with 600 cattle.

Kidnappings from different parts of Balochistan is not a new phenomenon, but 19 abductions in a single day have created doubts among the people about the performance of the law enforcement agencies.
