PESHAWAR: At least 13 persons were killed while 29 others injured across KP during the last five days torrential rains, said the report issued by Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) here Monday.
PDMA report is based on the devastation caused by floods and rain-related incidents in all the districts of the province. Those died also five children and a woman. Three deaths were reported from Buner, three from Shangla, five from district Mansehra and one each from Abbottabad and South Waziristan.
The report further stated that as many as 29 persons were injured while 27 animals also perished in rain-related incidents in the province. Similarly, nine houses have also been fully damaged while 16 houses were partially damaged during torrential rains.
The PDMA report said that a total 10 district were declared rain-affected and efforts are being made the people adopt precautionary measures.
Roof collapse leaves three dead in Mansehra
MANSEHRA: Three of a family – including father, son and nephew – were killed when the roof of a mud-made house collapsed on their head in Mansehra Dara area of the district on Monday. The local rescue persons and police have recovered the dead bodies from the debris and shifted it to the hospital. The police officials told media that the reason behind the roof collapse incident was the ongoing monsoon rains. During the last few days of rains completely shattered the mud-made walls and roof due to which it suddenly fell down.
The local sources informed that Muhammad Amjid was working on his livestock farm when the roof collapsed over them. Besides Muhammad Amjid, the two children have also died in the tragedy identified as 10-year-old Abdullah, 6-year-old Junaid. Local people have taken them to king Abdul hospital, however, they could not survive and were pronounced dead on their arrival to the hospital.
