PESHAWAR, 28 October: At least 111 male and 26 female schools have been destroyed in the recent earthquake in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said a handout issued here on Wednesday.

Based on the initial reports  sent by District Education Officers (EDOs), the handout said that 1,157 schools have been damaged including 737 male schools and 420 female schools across the province.

The Elementary and Secondary Education Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has directed all the EDOs  to submit their reports about renting buildings and required number of tents for students of destroyed and damaged schools, so that the process of imparting education to the children could continue without any break, the press release said.

Moreover, the department has also directed the relevant quarters for preparation of a detailed technical analysis report for restoration and reconstruction of all such school buildings.
