QUETTA, 2 June: The Frontier Corps (FC) has claimed killing 14 militants during search operations in Balochistan.
The FC spokesman told TNN that the security personnel were conducting a search operation in Arboghi area of Kalat district when the militants opened fire on them. Nine militants were killed in the cross firing which continued till late night. Four FC personnel also sustained injuries in the clash.
On a tip off, the FC men also conducted an operation in Panjgur and killed four militants. The FC spokesman said the slain militants were involved in attacks on workers of Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) and government installations. The FC has also claimed killing a militant in Kohlu district of Balochistan.
On the other hand, an all parties conference (APC) is being organised in Quetta today in the aftermath of the Mastung tragedy. Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif will also attend the APC.
