BARA/JAMRUD, October 3: Security forces claim to have killed 15 militants as fighter jets pounded various areas in Bara and Jamrud tehsils of Khyber Agency.
The Inter-Services Public Relations, which manages public relations for the Pakistan Army, says in a statement that the forces carried out action in Sapari area of Jamrud and Tairah and other areas of Bara tehsil.
The ISPR says three hideouts of militants have also been destroyed in the action.
Khyber Agency has three tehsils, Bara, Jamrud and Landikotal. The agency has been home to militants affiliated with the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan and a local tribal militia Lashkar-e-Islam. Pakistani media reports say the LI chief, Mr Mangal Bagh, has gone to Afghanistan and TTP militants have also left most of the areas of Khyber Agency after the security forces launched operation there.
