LAKKI MARWAT: A 15-year-old boy was shot injured over refusal to enter ‘friendship’ with the accused in Lakki Marwat on Monday.
According to media reports, the victim boy, Asifullah told police in his statement that he was going to fields when he was confronted by Nek Salam, Rehmatullah, Rehman and Reham Dil. He said these persons opened fire on him, leaving him injured.
Arifullah said the accused were persuading him recently for entering ‘friendship’ with them. He said he was attacked when he refused to enter friendship with the accused.
Police have filed a case against the accused an initiated investigation. Raids are being conducted for the arrest of the accused.
Several incidents of violence over refusal to establish friendship (sexual relations) have taken place in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa recently.
Last year, a 16-year-old boy was shot dead over refusal of ‘friendship’ in Nawarkhel area of Lakki Marwat.
Police said the accused Ramazan was forcing Shafiullah to make friendship with him and shot him dead upon his consistent refusal.
In October last year, an accused was arrested in Nowshera on charges of torturing a transgender person over refusal to enter ‘friendship’ with him.
Local sources said the transgender person, Bilo’s condition deteriorated after torture and she was shifted to hospital for treatment. The transgender person has sustained injuries in his head and other parts of the body which needed stitches for healing.
Police took action when video of the injured transgender person went viral on the social media. Police registered an FIR against the accused, Jawad, and arrested him.
In June last year, Lakki Marwat Police arrested an accused involved in the murder of a 15-year-old boy from Charsadda who refused to ‘befriend’ him.
TNN correspondent reported that 15-year-old Uzair, hailing from Charsadda, had gone to Lakki Marwat to his sister’s house. Uzair met the accused Attaullah there who wanted to befriend him. Local sources said Uzair was uncomfortable with Attaullah’s advances and he refused to befriend him.
The accused escaped from the scene after killing the boy. The family of the deceased boy had also staged protest in Lakki Marwat over initial failure of police to arrest the culprit.
