PESHAWAR, September 4: Eighteen people have died during heavy rain and flood in Punjab province.
The Punjab government has notified that due to continuous rain since 3 September, many roads have been blocked in Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad and other areas.
About 18 people have died of electric shocks and roof collapse incidents while up to 30 have been injured, including women and children.
The Meteorological Department says more rain is expected in Punjab in next 24 hours that may increase the water level in River Chanab.
Rainy season is expected to begin in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today. The department has notified the Pakistan Disaster Management Authority to take precautionary measures as rain and flood are expected in Peshawar and other areas.
