BARA, November 12: The security forces claim to have killed another 19 militants in the ongoing operation in Khyber Agency.
The Inter-Services Public Relations, which handles public relations for armed forces of Pakistan, says the jet fighters of the Pakistan Air Forces targeted Sandapal and Akakhel areas of Bara tehsil where five hideouts of militants and a cache of ammunition were destroyed.
Meanwhile, the security personnel have imposed curfew and arrested seven suspects during a search operation in Walo Mela, Chapari, Shanger, Sur Qamar and Gato areas of Jamrud tehsils.
Security officials said they four bombs had also been defused in Chapari area. The curfew had been imposed in Jamrud in the wake of a clash between militants and security on 11 November when two militants were killed and four people, including two Frontier Corps personnel were injured.
In separate incident, eight security personnel were injured when an unidentified man lobbed a hand grenade on a vehicle of the security forces in Jamrud.
Thousands of tribal families, displaced as a result of military operation “Khyber-1”, are facing a miserable life in relief camps and other areas of settled areas nowadays.
