PESHAWAR, 3 March: Payroll and Probation Department, which works for welfare of prisoners, Thursday released 198 prisoners, including a woman and six juveniles, involved in trivial cases.

These prisoners were released under the Juvenile Justice System Ordinance. Payroll and Probation Department said about 2,000 criminals, including 26 women, two female juveniles and 90 male juveniles, are imprisoned in different jails of the country under probation. The department said this step will reduce expenditures of the provincial government. It said more prisoners will be released next month.
