SADDA, 7 May: Four persons, including two suicide bombers, were killed as the Levies officials foiled suicide bombing attempt during a football match in Kurram Agency yesterday.

The political administration said a football match was underway between two local football teams at the playground of a school in Alizai area of Kurram Agency when two suicide bombers tried to enter the ground. The bombers opened fire on the Levies officials when they tried to stop them. A dispenser and another man died in the firing by bombers and two others sustained injuries. The Levies men also opened fire on the bombers due to which they exploded their suicide vests.

A large number of spectators were present in the ground to watch the football match. Security has been further tightened in the area after the incident.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan has announced Rs1 million each for the Levies officials who thwarted a big terror plan. Political Agent Amjid Ali Khan also announced Rs500,000 each for the Levies officials and promoted them to the next grade.
