PESHAWAR, 21 November: A two-day “Art tech Festival” aimed at promoting indigenous art and culture of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa globally information technology, got underway in the historic Peshawar Museum here on Saturday. The first ever of its kind and a unique blend of art and technology, the festival is organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board in collaboration with the World Bank. UNDP and other local organizations. Technical workshops, design expo, food stalls, cultural stall and music will be salient features of the two-day event.
Addressing the inaugural session of the event provincial minster for education Atif Khan said that the festival would not only help promote the local art and culture globally but would also give a message to the international community that the people of KP are peace loving with a rich cultural background. Termed the event a good step towards the promotion of IT in the province the minister said the present government was committed to promote IT in the province and had been taking result oriented steps in this regard. “The holding of ArtTech festival is one of them, he said.
The minister informed that the provincial government had been spending Rs.1.5 billion in public sector schools to equip young generation with IT education.
