JAMRUD, 27 November: Political Agent Khyber Agency Shahab Ali Shah said on Friday that 24 out of 120 wanted militants have surrendered before the government.

Addressing a press conference in Jamrud, the political agent said the houses of those militants who did not surrender to the government will be demolished. He said two suspects involved in the killing of two Khassadar force personnel have been arrested and further investigation from them is under way.

On the occasion, the political agent announced cash prize of Rs300,000 for Khassadar force and Levies officials who recovered suicide jackets and weapons during an operation in Jamrud. He said a special programme for training of Khassadar force officials is also being chalked out.

“We have initiated a new programme to re-organise our Levies force which includes assigning areas of responsibility to post commanders where they will be responsible for information gathering, law and order maintenance and other security-related tasks,” Mr Shahab told TNN.
