WANA, 9 August: A technical training centre has been established for women in Tiarza area of South Waziristan Agency.

The centre, established by Sarhad Rural Support Programme (SRSP), a non-governmental organisation (NGO), has so far provided training in tailoring, embroidery and making decoration pieces to 260 women in the area.

The local people have appreciated the efforts of SRSP for providing technical training to women and sought establishment of similar training centres for boys and girls in all parts of South Waziristan.

Sadaf Awan, a representative of SRSP, told TNN that women are taking keen interest in technical training. She said many women are getting enrolled in the institution.

“This institution is a role model for others in South Waziristan. It is a big success that we have trained 260 women during the last six months. So many women are arriving here for registration that we can easily accommodate three or four more batches in our institution. We accommodate 30 or 40 women in a single batch,” she said.
