TANK, November 12: Authorities have selected 280 farmers, including 200 from Dera Ismail Khan district and 180 from Tank, for distribution of free wheat seeds and fertilizer.

The commodities are being given to farmers under the Governor Development Programme. Agriculture Officer of the pogramme, Mr Niaz Ali, verified the farmers at a meeting in the Irrigation Department.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Niaz Ali said each farmer would be given one sack seek, one sack urea and 500 rupees transportation charges.

The farmers lauded the welfare act of the government authorities.

“We thank the government for providing us seeds and fertilisers. The authorities did a good job by giving the underprivileged farmers free commodities. Hopefully the government will continue assisting us in future,” stated one of the farmers while talking to TNN.
