A special flight organized by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government brought 287 students from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, to Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar last night. Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Gandapur welcomed the returning students at the airport.

These five special flights, costing over 140 million rupees, included students from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab, Sindh, and Azad Kashmir.

The urgency for these special flights arose after an incident last month in Bishkek, where local students attacked foreign students, resulting in injuries to at least 14 Pakistani students. In response, all foreign students were instructed to remain confined to their hostels and homes. However, due to the escalating tensions, special flights were arranged to bring back the Pakistani students safely.

Notably, around 12,000 Pakistani students are studying in various universities in Kyrgyzstan. Through the efforts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, 1,450 students have been safely returned to Pakistan via these five special flights.
