PESHAWAR: Peshawar Zalmi and Zalmi Foundation will organise the 2nd edition of Zalmi Madrassa Cricket League 4-6 December in Balochistan.
The matches of the league will be played at Bolan Cricket Stadium from 4 to 6 December, said an announcement by the Peshawar Zalmi media department.
The first edition of the Madrassa League was held in Peshawar which was an enormous success and national and international media gave it ample coverage. The Madrassa League provided an opportunity to the students of religious seminaries to display their talent and play at a well-established stadium. The League also displayed a positive image of the region in the world.
Peshawar Zalmi Chairman Javed Afridi said in his message that the successful first edition encouraged him to hold the next edition in another province. He said he is quite confident that the second edition will also meet enormous success like the first edition. He said the basic aim of the event it to bring the Madrassa students into the mainstream and provide opportunity to them to display their talent. He said he is also planning to organise the League in Punjab and Sindh.
Javed Afridi thanked the federal and provincial governments and Commander Southern Command Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa for their cooperation in organising the event in Balochistan.
Ten teams from madrassas of Balochistan will take part in the second edition of Zalmi Madrassa Cricket League.
