PESHAWAR, 11 October: A three-day gems and minerals exhibition concluded here in Nishter Hall Peshawar on Sunday.
The Gemological Association of Pakistan (GAP) had organized the exhibition in which at least 100 stalls were set up by gemstone sellers and owners from Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Sindh, Punjab and Baluchistan.
A large number of people visited the exhibition and took interest in various types of gemstones including amber, opal, agate, coral, lapis lazuli, turquoise, and pearls, displayed in the event.
Sehrish, a lady visitor told TNN that It was very good exhibition where different kind of gemstones were available at the lowest prices.
” I looked for a certain kind of gemstone in Islamabad and Peshawar for a long time. But I did not find it anywhere. Eventually I came to know about this exhibition, so I came here and found and purchased the gemstone at a very reasonable price” She added.
Amjid Khan, a stall owner said that the government should facilitate gemstone traders to organize such exhibition abroad as gemstones produced in Pakistan were favored by foreigners.
“Holding gemstone exhibition by Pakistani traders outside of the country will not only attract foreign investors to invest in the gemstone business in Pakistan but also increase the country’s export of precious stones to the world” he said.
