MIRANSHAH: At least three persons, including two children, lost their lives and seven others were injured in a gas cylinder blast inside a house in Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan tribal district on Saturday.
Rescue sources said the incident happened in Khadi village in Mir Ali where a gas cylinder explosion caused three deaths and seven injuries. The injured people were shifted to Mir Ali Hospital by the rescue personnel and local people.
The sources said the deceased and the injured persons belong to the same family.
Gas cylinder blasts are common in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during winters. Due to little carelessness or fault in cylinder, such incidents happen which often result into life loss and injuries.
Last week, four people were injured as a gas pipeline exploded in a bakery in Barisko area of Peshawar.
The injuries to three persons were minor, while one person received serious injuries who was shifted to a nearby hospital.
The bomb disposal squad was also called after the explosion. The BDS personnel said it was a gas pipeline explosion. A house attached to the bakery was also damaged in the explosion.
Last month, a blast happened at a house in Kohat due to which the house was razed and an elderly woman received serious injuries.
The incident happened in Hayat Shaheed Colony in the wee hours of January 09.
The family members tried to light up a gas heater, but a blast happened due to gas leakage. The injured woman was shifted to Peshawar for treatment.
The house owner Hassan Khan blamed the SNGPL for the incident as gas supply was turned on and off without any schedule. He said it was the third such incident in his locality.
On January 03, four people sustained injuries in a gas cylinder blast in Yakatoot area of Peshawar.
Rescue 1122 said the blast injured four people, including two women and a child. The injured people were taken to hospital.
Earlier, fire broke out in a car in Karkhano Market in Peshawar and a house in a rural area of Peshawar. No casualty was reported in the two incidents.
