BARA, 23 September: Three players from FATA Region have been selected in the National Under-19 cricket team.

FATA cricket coach Saqib Faqir told TNN on Wednesday that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has selected Sameen Gul from Khyber Agency, Hayatullah from Bajaur Agency and Muhammad Umar from Dera Ismail Khan for the Sri Lanka tour of the National Under-19 team after their brilliant performances in the National Under-19 Championship.

Muhammad Umar scored 450 runs in the National Under-19 Championship, Hayatullah got 17 wickets and Sameen Gul got eight wickets. Sameen Gul has also represented Pakistan in the Under-17 team in a series against England.

The National Under-19 team will tour Sri Lanka from 1 October where two three-day and five one-day matches will be played. The first match will be played on 4 October.

Mr Faqir said there is no shortage of cricketing talent in FATA. He said the FATA players will find place in all the national teams with the passage of time.
