QUETTA, 12 November: Thirty-two rebels, including four commanders, laid down their arms and accepted the government’s writ in Balochistan on Wednesday.
A ceremony in this connection was organised in Quetta where the rebels handed over their arms to the Marri tribe chief and provincial minister Nawab Changez Khan Marri. The militant commanders who surrendered their arms include Balochistan Liberation Army’s Nihal Khan, Dostain and Arz and United Baloch army camp Subedar.
Changez Khan Marri told media persons on the occasion that he was making efforts to bring all the Marri tribe disgruntled people under the government writ.
“We are inviting the disgruntled people in the Marri tribe to come and join us in the development process of the country. We are hopeful that more people will join us and will become part of the national mainstream,” Mr Marri said.
