PESHAWAR, 12 December: The media wing of the Pakistan Army on Saturday claimed the military has killed 3400 militants in the North Waziristan Agency during the Operation Zarb-e-Azb.

Briefing media about the military’s offensive which was started in June last year, director general ISPR Lt. Gen. Asim Bajwa a total of 837 hideouts of militants had been destroyed and huge cache of explosives and weaponry recovered during the 18-month long operation.

Besides, 183 wanted militants were also killed and about 22000 arrested in other parts of the country during this period, the DG ISPR added.

Asim Bajwa added that 488 security personnel had embraced martyrdom during the operation against the militants.
