PESHAWAR, 20 December: At least 35 people in Bannu and North Waziristan Agency are suffering from AIDS, an official said.

Chairman Community Empowerment Organisation Behram Shahzada, who also works with the National AIDS Programme, said 35 AIDS cases have been confirmed in Bannu and North Waziristan after collecting data from different laboratories and check up of eunuchs in these areas. He said the National AIDS Control Programme with the cooperation of Global Fund has started work for prevention of the disease in Bannu and North and South Waziristan. He said community health centres have also started work for treatment of AIDS patients in Bannu.
