PESHAWAR, 01 August: As many 39 children have been reported missing in Peshawar during the current year, said Edhi Center in a statement on Monday.

The statement said that ages of the missing children ranged from four to eight years. It added that the center had received reports of missing children from other parts of the province as well. However, the statement said that the number of such children stood higher in Peshawar.

Meanwhile, Senior Superintendent  of Police (SSP) Operations Peshawar, Abbas Majeed Marwat said that only six cases of missing children have so far been registered in Peshawar this year saying efforts and search were underway for their recovery.

A number of children went missing in Lahore over the last few days following which the matter was also discussed in Punjab Assembly.
