LANDIKOTAL, 17 March: Two Frontier Corps (FC) personnel and six militants were killed in a clash in Landikotal area of Khyber Agency in the wee hours of Friday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants based in Afghanistan attacked an FC check post in Shalman Speena Soka area in which two FC personnel were killed. Six militants were also killed in retaliatory firing of the soldiers. The security forces launched a search operation in the area after the incident.
Meanwhile, two FC personnel were killed and another sustained injuries in a suicide attack on the Shabqadar FC training centre in Charsadda.
District Police Officer (DPO) Sohail Khalid said two suicide bombers were shot dead by the FC personnel when they were trying to enter the training centre on Friday morning. He said two FC personnel also lost their lives and another sustained injuries when the suicide vests of the bombers exploded.
The security forces conducted a search operation in the area after the incident.
