HANGU, 7 October: The repatriation process of 700 displaced families to Orakzai Agency started on Tuesday and on the first day a total of 49 families belonging to Ferozkhel and Mishti tribe returned to their native areas in lower part of the agency. The officials of FATA disaster Management Authority (FDMA)  said that in the first phase, 700 families would be sent back to their hometowns in Orakzai Agency from Togh Serai camp in Hangu. However, they said that displaced families belonging to the troubled parts of Orakzai Agency would stay in the camp until their areas were declared de-notified by political administration.

The returnees were happy to return their homes but at same time were worried about the lack of basic life facilities in the areas of their return. Talking to TNN one of the displaced persons said “we spent a very difficult time in the camp during extremely hot summer and cold winter in absence of basic facilities”. He said that a large number of Internally Displaced Persons were still not registered and provided financial aid by FDMA. He complained that the government had not compensated them for the reconstruction of their destroyed houses in Orakzai Agency.
