PESHAWAR, 15 December: Peshawar police on Tuesday arrested five militants including a prayer leader and recovered ammunition and explosives from their possession.

According to chief capital city police officer (CCPO) Mubarak Zeb, the accused militants were planning to carry out a terrorist attack on a school on Warsak Road.

Police said two bombs, rocket launchers, four mortar shells and other weaponry have been recovered from the possession of the arrested militants.

Police and other law enforcement agencies have tightened the security in and around the provincial metropolis on the first anniversary of the last year’s APS attack.
