PESHAWAR: A five-year-old boy was sexually abused in Jandar Gali in Nothia within the jurisdiction of Gulberg police station on Wednesday.
Mother of the boy, Nadia Taimur, while registering FIR in Police station, said that she has sent her son, Okasha, to fetch something from a nearby shop, however, after some time, he returned crying, having stains of blood on his clothes.
Nadia further revealed that when she enquired, Okasha told informed that he was on the way to shop when a man stopped her near water filtration plant and forced him entered inside the plant where he was sexually abused. Nadia further added that she took the little boy with herself outside to identify the culprit.
She added that there are several people ear the filtration plan, however, Okasha put finger on a man, identified as Mansoor, a resident of the same locality. After the registration of the FIR, the police have raided the area and arrested Mansoor from his home. The Gulberg Police while giving details the case told media that they have arrested the accused behind the alleged rape and conducting further investigation While the boy was taken to Hospital for medical and legal examination as part of the investigation process.
A case was registered against the Mansoor under the relevant section of law after doctors released the report. The police officials said that all efforts will be made to provide justice to the victim.
Almost on a daily bases, the cases of minor children molestation are being reported for across the province. Child rights activists are asking the government to introduce an active and efficient child protection system. A law exists in the shape of the Child Welfare and Protection Act, 2010 and even a commission has been established, but its role is invisible. Few days, back, the Peshawar High Court has established the first Child protection court in Peshawar, which the right activists believe will be much helpful in providing speedy justice to victim families.
