PESHAWAR, 05 December: The Fata secretariat will grant 50 scholarships to tribal students, said a notification issued here on Saturday.

According to the notification, the grantees will get free education from class 8th to class 12th. Those studying in class 7th are eligible to apply for the grant, the notification read and added, “the scholarships are only for those students who have been residing in Fata and that he/she must have studied in Fata schools”.

Applications can be submitted till December 30. All the students are informed to submit application with the education officer of their concerned tribal agency. Applications can also be submitted in Habib bank branches along with a fee of Rs.400/- on the prescribed forms of Directorate of Education, Fata secretariat.

The 50 lucky students will be selected through a test which will be conducted by ETEA on February 7 in Peshawar. The test will be taken in five subjects including English, Math, Urdu, Science and Islamiat. The scholarships will be equally distributed among the tribal agencies and frontier regions.

Male students are required to get minimum 60% marks whereas the criteria for female students is 55%.
