PESHAWAR, 22 February: The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR) has said that as many as 60,000 babies are born every year to Afghan families residing in Pakistan.

In one of its reports the world body has said majority of these newborns are left from registration.

The report further said that more than 180,000 Afghan refugees have not been registered since 2015.

According ministry of Safron, 1.5million registered Afghan refugees are living in Pakistan at the moment, whereas hundreds of thousands of non-registered Afghan refugees are also living in Pakistan.

The government of Pakistan has extended the stay of registered Afghan refugees till August 2016.
