MARDAN, 29 April: A new police training school has been opened in Mardan where the cops will be trained for controlling the mob during protest demonstrations.

Sixty-seven police personnel completed their training at the school yesterday. The cops received training about controlling the angry mob by using reason and wit instead of resorting to torture or the use of weapons.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak was the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony.

Inspector General Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Durrani said in his speech on the occasion that the cops should have awareness about the psychological state of the angry agitators. Mr Durrani said the cops should be capable of controlling the mob politely rather than resorting to the use of force.
