KHAR, 17 August: As many as 67 physically impaired people received prosthetic limbs at the agency headquarters hospital here the other day.

The prosthetic limbs (legs and arms) were provided under the rehabilitation of physically disabled persons program of the Fata health department to people who lost their body parts in different incidents.

According to program coordinator Dr. Imtiaz they had been striving to rehabilitate those who had lost their legs or hands in bomb blast. He added that they were also helping polio affected people under the rehabilitation program.

Dr. Imtiaz maintained that more than 1500 disabled people had been provided prosthetic limbs so far.

Those who received the artificial organs expressed great excitement and hoped it would help them in regaining mobility.

“I had lost my leg due to which I had been facing great difficulties while moving from one place to another. Now I got a prosthetic leg and I am hopeful that it will help me in walking. I am thankful to the government,” said a local tribesman while talking to TNN.
