PESHAWAR, 16 September: The Ministry of States and Frontier Regions (SAFRON) has issued citizenship cards to 80,000 unregistered Afghan refugees in Pakistan.
Sources in the SAFRON Ministry said the process of registration of illegally residing Afghan refugees was initiated on 16 August and it will continue till 30 September. The sources said 80,000 citizenship cards have been issued to Afghan refugees which will give them identity and they will get more facilities with the help of these cards.
The sources said 12 centres have been established in Peshawar for issuing citizenship cards to Afghan refugees. A target of registering about one million unregistered Afghan refugees has been set for the campaign.
