MIRAN SHAH: Residents of North Waziristan district demanded of Fata Secretariat to restart payment of financial assistance approved for rehabilitation of the militancy-hit people.

They appealed Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Justice Supreme Court to take notice of suspension of financial assistance by Fata Secretariat.

Tribal elders complained that Fata Secretariat has stopped giving monthly Rs12000 to each displaced family that was approved for last five months.

Malik Ghulam Khan, a tribal elder, said that the secretariat play delaying tactics to start financial assistance of the affected families though Fata Disaster Management Authority has written to high ups for payment of the amount.

He threatened if the secretariat did not resume payment of the said amount, they would be forced to stage protest in front of it.

Information Director of Fata Secretariat Abdus Salam Wazir said that they also wrote a letter to Safron Ministry for early release of the pending amount. However it replied that KP government will look after the matter since the region has been merged with the province.
