PESHAWAR, October 3: A research study conducted by an American organization says that 89 percent Pakistanis are still deprived of the internet facility in this modern age.
The report says that about 4.5 billion people across the world do not have access to internet and the figure is more than 50 percent of the world population.
Myanmar is leading all the countries because 99.5 percent people are deprived of the internet facility there while the figure is 98 percent in Ethiopia. Tanzania ranks third and Bangladesh fourth in this list while Pakistan is fifth, where 89 percent people are not connected to the cyber world.
The research report also says that 64 percent of those not using internet facility are based in rural areas where health, educational and administration facilities are scarce and internet is considered a luxury there.
