LANDIKOTAL: A volunteer of peace militia known as Tawheed-ul-Islam (TI) wounded in a clash with militants on the Pak-Afghan border in Bazaar Zakhakhel area of Khyber Agency on Thursday night, official sources said.

An official of Levies force deployed in the area told TNN that militants based at Ningrahar  province of Afghanistan were trying to infiltrate in Pakistan when they were stopped by TI volunteers, who are defending Bazaar Zakhakhel area for last 8 years against militants, from entering them to Pakistan. As a result, fighting erupted between two sides that left a volunteer of TI injured.

The official said that after a brief fighting, the militants whose affiliation could not be confirmed escaped the scene. A volunteer of the TI Muhammad Raziq was injured in the clash and  was shifted to Landikotal hospital for treatment. However, he said that no information was available if any loss was incurred on the attackers.
