MARDAN:  The Asian Development Bank has approved Rs7.30 billion for provision of clean drinking water, improvement of sanitation and solid waste disposal in 14 union councils of the district.

Mardan district Nazim Himayatullah Mayar, while talking to reporters, said that the fund was approved after a long deliberation for different development projects in the districts.

He said that land would be acquired for safe disposal of solid waste while thousands of people would be provided with clean drinking water.

He said that work on the projects would be started next month and proper utilization would be ensured.

He said that funds would be spent transparently with proper monitoring of construction work and audit.
