NOWSHERA: The main accused in the sexual abuse and murder case of an eight-year-old girl in Nowshera has revealed during investigation that he killed the girl to avenge his own sexual abuse by the girl’s uncle.

According to police, the victim girl Ewaz Noor went out of her house for religious class at 3:00pm on Saturday, but did not return home. The body of the girl was found near the victim’s house late in the night. Two accused nominated in the FIR were arrested.

The main accused, Abdar, confessed to his crime in the court. The accused said in his confessional statement that the girl’s uncle sexually abused him twice in his hujra (male guest house) and then he decided to avenge it and make friendship with Ewaz Noor. The accused said Ewaz refused to fulfil ‘his wish’ after he threw her into a water tank. He said he also strangulated Ewaz Noor in panic due to which she died.

Abdar said the girl’s parents reached his home and took him to their hujra and severely tortured him and handed him over to police.

District Police Officer (DPO) Kashif Zulfiqar said the DNA samples of the girl have been sent to Khyber Medical College and also to Punjab Forensic Lab for better results, while the samples of the accused have also been sent to Lahore.

Darul Uloom Haqqania issues Fatwa

Darul Uloom Haqqania Akora Khattak has issued a Fatwa (edict) over increasing incidents of sexual abuse in Nowshera and other parts of KP.

The Fatwa says sexual abuse is a heinous crime and culprits of such crimes must face strict punishment. After the crime is proved, a culprit will be subjected to Rajm or 100 lashes.

The Fatwa says culprits of murder will have to pay Qisas (retaliation in kind).

Increasing sexual abuse incidents in Nowshera

Calls for exemplary punishments for sexual abuse culprits are increasing in Nowshera as the district has witnessed several such cases recently.

On Tuesday, a boy was allegedly gang-raped by four young men in Pabbi area of Nowshera.

On December 22, a 13-year-old female Madrassa student accused two persons of sexually abusing her after kidnap in Sanobar Killi, Pir Sabaq. On December 12, an eight-year-old boy was sexually abused by two accused in Amangarh area. On November 01, a man subjected his 13-year-old stepson to sexual abuse in Petao area of Akora Khattak. Another such incident was also reported in Nowshera on September 08.
