BANNU, 20 October: The Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai has opposed the merger of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Talking to media persons after addressing a public meeting in Taji Killi area of Bannu on Monday, the PkMAP chief said the tribal areas have a unique status and traditions which should not be altered. He said those who want to unite the Pakhtuns should make efforts for merging Pakhtun areas of Balochistan with KP.

Achakzai said despite being deprived from basic facilities of life, the people of Pakhtun belt remained steadfast in their love for their country and offered countless sacrifices. He said the rights and privileges of Pakhtuns should be respected.
