PESHAWAR, 22 December: A painting and declamation contest was held here on Tuesday to depict the life of Afghan refugees and the problems being faced by them while living in the refugee camps.
The competition was organized by Afghan Commissionerate and was participated by students from as many 17 educational institutions.
In painting competition, Shoaib, from the University Public School got first position among students of higher classes whereas City School’s Haris Mehmood got first position on the junior level.
In the declamation contest, Warda Arshad of the Roots Millennium School, Hayatabad and Sameed Nawad of the Hayatabad Model School shared the first position.
The award winning students told TNN welcomed the holding of such events and said it provided students to show their hidden talents. “I love art,” said one of the students and said he would love to participate again if any such event was organized in future.
