PESHAWAR, 29 October: After securing historic one-day series win against Zimbabwe, Afghanistan on Thursday defeated Zimbabwe in the T-20 series 2-0 by securing victory in the second match of the series.
The second T-20 was played at Bulawayo, where Zimbabwe while batting first made 190 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Williams was top scorer for Zimbabwe with 54 runs from just 26 balls. Dawlat Zadran, Gulbadin Naib and Amir Hamza got two wickets each.
Afghanistan surpassed the total in 20th over with five wickets to spare. Usman Ghani scored 65 and Gulbadin Naib scored 56 runs for Afghanistan and played crucial role in the team’s victory. Naib was declared man of the match for his all-round performance.
Afghanistan had defeated Zimbabwe in the first T-20 by six wickets.
