Khan Shaheed team could score 80 runs while chasing the target of 100 runs by Noor Muhammad Tarakai team and lost the match.

A cricketer from North Waziristan told TNN on the occasion that such tournaments should be organised on regular basis. “Playgrounds should be constructed for the tribal players where they could polish their talent. We are not terrorists but peace loving people. We want development, peace and prosperity,” he said.

Another cricketer said opportunities should be provided to the tribal youth to demonstrate their skills.

The ANP Bannu president Abdus Sammad Khan, who was chief guest on the occasion, said the importance of sports activities has increased in the present circumstances. He said the purpose of dedicating the names of the teams to eminent personalities was to pay tribute to them for their services for the society.
