WANA: Elders of Ahmadzai Wazir tribe of South Waziristan on Tuesday promised to extend all support to the district government during election.

The decision was made during a jirga held here where deputy commissioner Suhail Ahmad Khan and other officials of the district government were also present.

The deputy commissioner said that section 144 would remain imposed keeping in view law and order in the area. He asked the candidates to take permission three days before a public gathering and rallies.

After permission, the government would keep a check on suspected persons to avoid any untoward incident, he said, adding that most of polling stations in NA-50 have been declared sensitive where security would remain tighten.

He appealed the elders for complete cooperation with the district government for holding of peaceful elections in the area.

The elders agreed and assured the administration that they would support and cooperate the government.
