KP CM approves Peshawar-DI Khan motorway project

PESHAWAR: Adviser to Chief Minister on tribal districts Ajmal Khan has Wazir has stepped in to resolve a land dispute between Sperkai and Khojalkhel tribes in Shakai tehsil of South Waziristan tribal district.

During his two-day visit to South Waziristan, Ajmal Wazir went to the residences of Khojalkhel and Sperkai tribes, which have taken positions against each other since the last few days over a longstanding land dispute. Both the tribes expressed confidence in Ajmal Wazir and agreed to step back from the fighting position. They also empowered the CM’s adviser to resolve the issue through negotiations.

Ajmal Wazir said on the occasion that the tribes in South Waziristan have given unprecedented sacrifices for peace in the region. He said the hard-earned peaceful environment must not be spoiled with mutual misunderstandings. He said peace has returned to the area with the sacrifices of the armed forces and local tribes. He said all the disputes must be resolved through negotiations.

The CM’s adviser said a Jirga has been formed in North Waziristan for resolution of land dispute between Khojalkhel and Sperkai tribes. He said the Jirga will hold negotiations with both the tribes and convince them to stop fighting and end the dispute.

Ajmal Wazir also visited the residence of Dr Noor Hanan, who was kidnapped by unknown miscreants few days ago. Assistant Commissioner Amir Nawaz and District Police Officer (DPO) Atique Wazir also accompanied him. They informed about the steps taken so far for the release of the kidnapped doctor.

Ajmal Wazir directed the concerned departments to accelerate efforts to secure the release of Dr Noor Hanan. He said those disturbing peaceful environment of South Waziristan will be dealt with sternly. He said no negligence in maintenance of law and order will be tolerated.

Dr Noor Hanan was kidnapped by unknown armed men from hospital in South Waziristan. One month has passed since the kidnapping incident and many protests have also been held by doctors in tribal districts for his release, but the government could not secure his release so far. At that time the authorities claimed to recover the kidnapped doctor soon, but no headway has been made in this regard so far.
