MARDAN, 28 October: The Awami National Party (ANP) provincial president Amir Haider Khan Hoti said alleged that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) conducted massive rigging in the by-election in NA-4 constituency of Peshawar.

Addressing a party meeting in Kas Koroona, Mardan on Friday, Amir Hoti alleged that election code of conduct was openly violated till the last moment in the by-election. He said the PTI government had made the polling agents sit outside, while polling boxes were placed in separate rooms. He demanded thorough probe into the organised rigging in the by-election.

Mr Hoti claimed that he knew beforehand that the winning party would get 28,000 votes, while the runners up will get 25,000 votes. He said his prediction was right as the ANP got 25,000 votes, but the other party got 20,000 additional votes from ‘unknown’ side.

Earlier, Adviser to Prime Minister Amir Muqam has also accused the PTI of committing worst rigging in NA-4 and ‘congratulated’ the PTI chief Imran Khan and KP Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak over it.

Amir Muqam alleged that Pervaiz Khattak in connivance with the Election Commission appointed staff of his choice in NA-4 for the by-election. He claimed that he has all the proofs in support of his allegations.

By-election in NA-4 constituency was held on 26 October in which the PTI candidate Aamir Ayub secured victor by a huge margin.
