PARACHINAR, 6 October: The Awami National Party (ANP) Kurram Agency chapter has expressed support to the FATA Reforms Bill tabled in the National Assembly by the tribal lawmakers and demanded merger of tribal areas into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Addressing a seminar in Parachinar on Monday, the ANP leaders said the British-era Frontier Crimes Regulation (FCR) law in FATA should be abolished now. They said the tribal people also deserve all the facilities like the citizens of other parts of the country. The ANP leaders said the merger of FATA into KP will resolve many problems of the tribal areas.

An ANP leader said on the occasion that all Pakhtuns want reforms in FATA. “Every single individual of tribal areas want to be part of the national mainstream,” he said.

Another ANP leader said the FATA lawmakers have the mandate to bring reforms in tribal areas. “The lawmakers of FATA have the backing of masses. The mandate of the tribal people should be respected and reforms bill should be passed as soon as possible,” he said.
