LAKKI MARWAT, 29 August: The Awami National Party-Wali senior vice president Nawabzada Mohsin Ali has said the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project is a guarantee for bright future of the children of Pakhtuns which will never be handed over to Punjab at any cost.
The ANP-Wali leader said this while addressing a rally arranged by Pakhtunkhwa Olasi Tehreek in Lakki Marwat on Sunday. Mohsin Ali said the people of KP are aware of their rights now and they will not allow anyone to deprive them from the benefits of the mega project.
Olasi Tehreek leader Dr Said Alam said on the occasion that the CPEC was specifically designed to benefit the KP people and now the Pakhtuns will go to any extent to stop it from becoming a ‘Punjab Corridor’. He said the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has been given a simple 55-kilometre road project which is not even part of the CPEC project.
Mr Alam said despite announcements by the prime minister for establishment of Bannu Airport and Lakki Marwat University, not a single penny has been allocated in the federal budget for these projects.
