PARACHINAR, 12 June: The political administration of the Kurram Agency on Sunday launched a grand anti-encroachment drive in Sadda Bazaar and demolished more than a hundred shops.
As per details, the drive was conducted from Abdul Manan Pump to Amir Muawiyah Chowk. During the anti-encroachment drive, more than hundred illegal shops, cabins and other encroachments outside the shops in the bazaar were razed.
Talking to TNN, Munwar Khan, General Secretary of Anjuman Tahafuz-e-Tajran, questioned the timing of the operation. “We have no regret over the anti-encroachment operation, but our reservations are over the timing. It was decided in a meeting with political administration, that operation would be carried out after Razaman,” he claimed.
Assistant Political Agent Tariq Hassan said that operation was conducted for widening the road. However, the drive suspended until Eidul Fitar, he remarked.
